Equity For Punks - Brew Dog Offer Beer Shares

In a clever move to market their product and raise capital, Fraserburgh-based Brew Dog have launched Equity for Punks, a call for cash for a slice of brewery action.

Apart from some dodgy scripting (“This is a cool gig, let’s rock it out together”), this is potentially a model for the future of marketing and business. Small homegrown talent, clever (and cheap) online marketing, and collaborative ‘bottom-up’ investment is the kind of combination that’ll thrive when conventional approaches fail.

In the modern world of business, it is useless to be a creative original thinker unless you can also sell what you create. Management cannot be expected to recognize a good idea unless it is presented to them by a good salesman.
